A television network hopes to draw the biggest ratings ever by televising an execution live into the home of every American family. A high-powered executive working for a broadcasting station comes up with this idea, hoping that it will cause a moralizing effect and be a deterrent to crime. However, she finds herself becoming engrossed in the case.
