Situation Comedy, 100 x 25 minute episodes
Mister Peepers stars the soft-spoken comedian, Wally Cox, as a beloved, shy sympathetic underdog science teacher at Jefferson Junior High School, a role that was the forerunner of the characterizations being created by Woody Allen today.
The classic television series follows Robinson J. Peepers, a shy, mild-mannered general science teacher. His slight frame, baggy tweed shirt, big plastic glasses and soft, nasal voice became the trademark for superlative comedy during the Golden Age of Television.
Among the many guest stars to appear in this situation comedy were Walter Matthau, Martin Balsam, Rod Steiger, Arthur O'Connell, Cyril Ritchard, Aice Ghostley, Orson Bean, Inger Stevens, Andrew Duggan, Vincent Gardenia and Elaine Stritch.
